About Caffè Vergnano:
Caffè Vergnano has a long-standing tradition since 1882, when Domenico Vergnano opened a grocery store in Chieri, near Turin, Italy. Soon after, he started selling and roasting coffee. The company made bold decisions, including acquiring its first coffee plantation in Kenya. Vergnano focuses on selecting the finest coffee beans grown at specific altitudes and climates rich in minerals, from countries like Haiti, El Salvador, Costa Rica, San Domingo, Guatemala, and later Kenya and Brazil. Quality monitoring starts even before the plants grow, using natural compost on farms producing for Vergnano, the only method that ensures flavorful coffee beans.

Coffee is expertly prepared as a blend of different coffee species, mainly Coffea Arabica and Coffea Robusta. Arabica (about 70% of global production) has lower caffeine and a wide spectrum of delicate flavors and aromas. It is grown at higher altitudes (900–2800 m), often on volcanic soil, or as a forest variety. Robusta (about 25% of global production) is less demanding, smaller in size, with a stronger, earthier flavor, and approximately twice the caffeine content of Arabica. Coffee is the second most traded commodity in the world after oil.
